Meet the Moon Elf (Mánaálfinn)
As night falls over the Icelandic lava fields and the stars twinkle in the sky, another elf awakens, of the elf family of Flókakonunn – the mysterious Moon Elf
This little wool elf draws his inspiration deep from Norse mythology, where the personification of the moon, the god Mán, drives his silver chariot across the night sky. The elf captures this ancient magic and brings the peace and light of the night into homes

It is handmade, like all my products, from Icelandic wool. The body and the tall, characteristic elf hat are in deep, midnight blue tones that reflect the mysterious Icelandic winter sky
In the middle of the body is a grayish moon, and on the hat he bears a magnificent emblem with a yellow crescent moon and stars. He is dressed nicely in glasses and adorned with a ribbon in the colors of the Icelandic flag

Under his arm he carries such a precious message: a small, rolled-up stanza of verse with the beloved children's song, "Tunglið, tunglið, taktu mig…“. It is one of the nation's most historic and treasured cultural rhymes, deeply rooted in centuries-old local folklore
